Educating Young People for the 21st Century: Constructing an aims-led curriculum

This paper suggests how one might best go about constructing a curriculum which delivers outcomes consistent with aims, (aims as stated by government, by schools of different types and by stakeholders in the system, e.g. business and the arts communities). In focusing on the needs of practitioners, I am keenly aware, having tracked government policies and pronouncements over the last 12 months, from January 2008, as Governor of a school considering options into the future, of schools' problems in coping with rapid change and uncertainty.
